Fees & Rebates
Fees
​
Our fees are set at a level that reflects the specialised nature of our services. Our highly experienced expert Doctors and Psychologists only work with children, teenagers, families and parents. For more details regarding our fees, please contact your clinician or their admin staff.

Medicare Rebates
​
For Psychology consultations, with a valid referral from your doctor (referred to as a Mental Health Care Plan), you can claim a Medicare rebate for each 50-minute counselling session. Up to 10 rebates can be claimed per calendar year. Rebates range between $84.80-$124.50.
For Psychiatry consultations, with a valid doctor’s referral, you may be entitled to claim up to 50 appointments per year. The rebate amount is dependent on the item number and type of consultation.
Some families may qualify for the Medicare Safety Net Scheme in which case your out-of-pocket cost will be further reduced when you reach the threshold.

Medicare Referrals
​
Referrals from General Practitioners and Psychiatrists are typically valid for a 12 month period. Specialist Doctors (eg. Paediatricians) may only be valid for 3 months.
Please note: Patients and their families are responsible to provide Northshore Kidspace with current and valid referrals. If you are unclear if your referral is current, please ask your Doctor or Psychologist to clarify. Due to the high volume of patients, we are unable to track referral expiry dates on behalf of patients and families.

Private Health Fund Rebates

If you are NOT claiming Medicare rebates, you can claim from your private health fund rebate after each session. Rebates will vary widely depending on your health fund and your level of cover. If in doubt, please check with your health fund.
